I believe a safe, honest and compassionate approach to therapy is essential to anyone’s learning and healing process. As a therapist with more than 20 years of experience,  I have learned that regardless of how large the obstacles in your life might seem, there is hope, and you do not have to struggle forever or fear that you will be in therapy for the rest of your life. Instead, whether you come in as an individual or as part of a couple, once you are equipped with personalized tools and techniques, you can move forward in life with greater empowerment and resilience.

My sessions are typically about one hour long – scheduled once per week. Although we only have one hour each week together, I provide my clients with the support, guidance and tools needed to practice our work together outside the therapy office. The most drastic transformations I see are in those who enter therapy with a willingness to embrace new experiences and take the extra time to start creating change in their lives.

I believe one of the most important determiners of effective therapy is the positive relationship between the therapist and the client. During our sessions, my main goals are to connect with you, understand what you need and listen to what you believe is right for you.

As an interactive therapist, I also see the value in open and honest communication. What makes me unique is my ability to see several sides of an argument and get on the same level as my clients. For example, in couples counseling sessions, I may act as a bridge of communication between both partners so each can feel heard and understood by one another. Once couples learn new ways of communicating, they often quickly form new modes of interacting in order to fulfill each other’s needs.

Over the years, I have learned that life struggles are very common and there is no shame in reaching out for help. In fact, by addressing your concerns with an experienced therapist, you have hope to create positive change and move forward in a fulfilling life.

If you are interested in learning more about my approach or how counseling can help you navigate life’s challenges, I invite you to call me to discuss your issues or needs and setup an appointment.

If you are not able to meet in my La Quinta, CA office, I also offer phone therapy and virtual coaching sessions.
